She is a registered member of the Hupa Tribe and lives on the Hoopa Reservation in Northern California -- the headbands in different tribal patterns are particularly popular. Years ago grandma grabbed her knitting needles and started on the baby layette as soon as the pregnancy announcement was made; but today few have time for that.
