Store Message
Thanks everyone for your support of our custom knits. We look forward to 2024 being a great year here at The Knit Tree. As Sharon Nani, owner, prepares for retirement, she is training her son, Ken to knit the items in the online store, plus the ones that were removed. Ken is going to take over The Knit Tree and its equipment so we can continue to offer these unique custom knits to our customers. Ken is not new to machine knitting - he earned his high school and college spending money by filling orders back in the 1990's, and has continued to help in maintaining the equipment. Ken is creative in his own rights with his "Custom Wood and Land Works" business where he falls the timber, prepares the lumber and creates unique wood items and projects: custom storage sheds, fences, decks ect. So we may add new catagories to this web site when the time arrives. SO LOOK FORWARD TO ADDING THE CAMO KNITS BACK INTO THE ONLINE STORE THIS YEAR.

Pacific Northwest Art Style is featured in these Salmon Hand loomed Knit Headbands. !
The image pictures our popular soft and silky Merino Wool headbands, but if you prefer acrylic you can choose your yarn fiber under OPTIONS below.
Our Headbands stretch to fit Children to Adults and bounce back into shape for a great comfortable fit! They are hand latched off on the inside so there is no bulky seam.
Headbands are a great cover over the ears or as a Hair Accessory. Both Male and Female enjoy wearing them just for the style. If you don't like covering your whole head top with a cap, this is a great alternate choice.
The Pacific Northwest Coast Art is applicable to many Indian Nations ranging from Alaska to Northern California. This would include: Tlingit, Tahltan, Kaigani Haida, Nisga's, Gitksan, Haida, Haisla, Coast Tsimshian, Nuxalk, Heiltsuk, Nuxalk, Oweekeno, Nuu-chah-nulth, Makah, Coast Salish, Tolowa, Yurok, and Wiyot.
The Salmon Design features black form lines. Inner designs are composed of ovoids and crescent.
Headbands are offered in two yarn fibers: acrylic and the finest merino wool. The acrylic version is high quality acrylic which is machine washable. Our merino wool is soft and silky - not the coarser itchy wool that one thinks about from early years. Hand washing in cold water / lay flat to dry is recommended for the merino.
